I am an artist and writer born in Adelaide.  After growing up playing with local clay I went on to study ceramics at the South Australian School of Art in 2002, completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2004 and Honours in 2005.  I continued my postgraduate studies after receiving an Australian Postgraduate Award; my doctorate thesis examined the therapeutic aspects of making with clay and was conferred in 2010.  From 2011-2012 I was a ceramics associate at JamFactory, and in 2013  co-founded 6 Hands Studio in West Croydon, Adelaide.   In 2014 I was selected to undertake a six week artist residency in 'porcelain capital' Jingdezhen, China. I worked from 6 Hands Studio preparing exhibition work and experimenting with porcelain jewellery for four years before moving to a home studio whilst pursuing a career in midwifery. Currently most of my energy goes into chasing a toddler, teaching and making quirky porcelain jewellery that I sell in retailers around the place.
